Full Body Scanners: Can you send that to my doctor?

Full body scanners have slowly crept into more than 20 airports since the September 11 terrorist attack, most recently at the Kansas City airport. Some are saying these scanners are a privacy violation and an insult to certain religions and just plain embarassing. Apparently these scanners are so sensitive they show genitalia. Well, that's a bit much, but I think that everyone might be missing the point here. With medical costs on the rise and a health care plan that is destined to turn out like everything else that falls under government control, lets combine airport scanners with medical check ups. It could be like getting your picture taken at a mall kiosk--stick in a twenty, walk through and it spits out a CD on the other side with pictures for your family doctor. Of course, then insurance gets involved, everyone wants more money, the quality of the machines go down....on second thought, I'll step aside and take the pat down.

Charlie Sheen back at work

Remember that move from the 80s or 90s, Men at Work, with Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez? That was a terrible movie. Well, I guess it wasn't so bad--some might consider it a cult classic. Charlie finally redeemed himself, for that movie and a host of other infractions, with Two and a Half Men. Now that show rocks. Filiming finally started up again on the CBS comedy after Sheen's short stint in "preventative rehab." While Sheen may still have some legal issues ahead of him stemming out of an incident with his wife, I seriously doubt the popularity of the show will be affected. My 65-year-old mother-in-law makes sure she's home by 7:30 to catch the show...and she's not the most forgiving person in the world. If she's okay with it, I imagine most of America will look past the private Charlie to the piano-playing, jingle-slinging, womanizing, snarky TV Charlie.

Stocks Await Federal Reserve Rate....

The stocks go up, the stocks go down....the rate stays low and people still don't have jobs or money to fill their cars up with gas prices that seem to be creeping up again. Concerns over inflation aside, the Fed still seems to intend to keep the rate low to continue to try and stimulate the economy. Some economists are saying keeping the rates so low is just inviting the risky behavior that may have gotten us into this mess in the first place. Well, with $10 million dollars being spent in advertising THIS WEEK on Obamas healthcare plan I guess it's easy to see why some people would worry about how the powers that be control finances.
